Y Thrive Trainer

YMCA of Greater Saint John

As a Y Thrive Trainer you will assist and build relationships with members, YMCA staff and volunteers, assist fitness staff on duty and provide exercise advice and instruction to members. Trainers will demonstrate knowledge of fitness center, YMCA mission, core values, and act as a positive role model. Y Thrive Trainers will help to maintain a positive, friendly, and safe environment in health and wellness areas.

Position Responsibilities

Provide high-quality customer service to participants Provide coaching appointments to members Actively book people into YThrive appointments and recommend YMCA programs to suit customer goals and needs Assist with cleaning duties of the Fitness Floor Ensure Fitness Floor rules are being followed Assist instructors with class transitions and set up Maintain excellent communication with Fitness staff, volunteers and members Complete all online training as assigned Use respectable language at all times Be well-groomed and appropriately dressed in clothing that is fitting for the position and that will leave the best possible impression on the public Accept the guidance and decisions from the supervisor/director as well as report planned or unplanned absences to them Treat staff, clients and other volunteers of the YMCA of Greater Saint John with respect and dignity and be responsible in the use of the Y’s resources Perform volunteer responsibilities promptly, reliably, and to the best of the volunteer’s ability Adhere to policies and procedures of the YMCA of Greater Saint John Accept and work within the YMCA of Greater Saint John’s guiding principles, the mission, and values of the YMCA of Greater Saint John Display appropriate YMCA of Greater Saint John Volunteer identification as required
