Game On! Mentor (Sussex, Hampton, KV, Saint John, St. George, St. Andrews, St. Stephen)

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Saint John
Children & Youth

Game On! Is an exciting mentorship program built exclusively for middle-school-aged students. With evidence-based research at the foundation, the goal of these programs is to provide youth with the guidance and support to make informed choices for living an active lifestyle (being physically fit), enjoying and exploring balanced eating (making healthy choices), and building a positive self-image (self-respect/self esteem)! How it works! Groups of 8-10 youth will be paired with 2-3 volunteer female or male mentors • Volunteers will be trained and supported by our professional Mentoring Coordinators • The program will span 8-14 weeks (dependent on what works best for location and volunteer availability) • The group will meet once a week, for one hour • This time will be spent working through fun-filled, active, and informative activities outlined in the facilitator manual provided to each mentor! • The facilitator manuals are designed to make each session flow in an organized fashioned and can be easily followed even if you have no prior knowledge on the weekly subject! • Our role is to provide you with the tools and support you will need to feel confident in your new mentoring role. We are always here to help and answer any questions you may have.
