Habitat for Humanity ReStore - Saint John
About Habitat for Humanity ReStore - Saint John:
Habitat NB, Saint John ReStore is an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity Canada, a non-profit working towards providing affordable housing since 1985. To date, the ReStores have reused over 950 MILLION lbs. of household items to raise funds and build homes!
Our Mission:
Habitat for Humanity New Brunswick is a non‑profit charitable organization working toward a world where everyone has a safe and decent place to live. Through community partnerships, it builds homes, strengthens communities, and provides opportunities for affordable homeownership and community support. For the ReStore specifically (including the Saint John ReStore), its purpose ties directly to Habitat’s mission:
The ReStore operates as a social enterprise and thrift home improvement store where donated materials, furniture, appliances, and household goods are resold at discounted prices.
All proceeds from ReStore sales help fund Habitat for Humanity’s local homebuilding projects and affordable housing programs, supporting families in need of safe, stable, and affordable housing.
This means that although ReStore often markets itself with a focus on shopping, donating, and volunteering locally, its core mission is to advance Habitat New Brunswick’s mission of building affordable homes and stronger communities by generating financial support and community engagement.
